How Elite Tree Service Springfield Handles a Job
Elite Tree Service Springfield takes down, prunes, cables and grinds out trees for homeowners in Springfield and the towns around it in Greene and Christian counties. Most of the trees we deal with are the ones the Ozarks grow on their own (white, black and post oaks, shagbark hickory, sycamore, eastern red cedar) plus the trees people planted over the last century: silver maples, sweetgums, Scots and Austrian pines, ash, and a great many Callery pears.
A job begins with a look at the tree in person. We note the species, the lean, any dead or hanging limbs, cracks and old wounds, fungus or soft wood near the base, and the targets underneath: roof, garage, fence, the neighbor's car, a play set. We also look at what a crew would have to do to reach it. A backyard on a Rountree side street with a narrow driveway and wires along the alley is a very different job from an open lot on the edge of town, even for the same size tree.
Three things get checked before we quote. First, wires. If the tree is near a City Utilities primary line, Missouri's Overhead Power Line Safety Act keeps unauthorized people at least 10 feet away, and CU runs a free assist program through its Tree Management office. If it is only the service line to your house, CU will drop and reconnect that line at no charge with two business days' notice. Second, ownership. A tree along the street or on a property line may not be entirely yours, and we will say so before anyone cuts. Third, the ground. Springfield sits on limestone with cherty, rocky soil and a lot of karst, which affects where equipment can go and how deep a stump grinder can run.
After the visit, you get a written quote. It lists each tree, the work, how the wood and brush will be handled, whether the stump is included, and the price. Nothing is cut until you approve it, and if something changes once the work starts, we talk it over with you before doing more.
What you can expect from us
- A written line for every tree, so you can approve some work and hold off on the rest.
- Limbs lowered on ropes over roofs, fences and gardens instead of dropped.
- Pruning cuts made to ANSI A300 practice: no topping, no flush cuts, no climbing spikes on trees that are staying.
- Ash, pine and pear problems explained plainly, with removal and keep-it options laid side by side.
- Brush chipped and hauled, or left for you, as agreed; logs left in rounds if you burn wood.
- Storm calls sorted by danger: a tree on the house or blocking a door comes first.
